December 9 Newsletter

December 9, 2022

Happy Finals Week! Below are friendly reminders about taking your exams with SLDS.

Date/Time/Location: You should have received an email from our office with the date, time, and location for each of your scheduled final exams (SLDS Final Exam Reminder). You can also find this information by logging into AIM and clicking the Alternative Testing link

Off-Site Locations: SLDS uses several locations across campus for exam proctoring during Finals Week. These include Disability Services (Baker Hall), Ohio Union Basement, Younkin Success Center, Enarson Classroom Building, Bolz Hall, and Fontana Lab. All testing locations provide social distancing and extra space for students, earplugs, clocks, pencil sharpeners, and white noise machines. All locations outside of SLDS are small-group setting. Click here for directions and more information for each of our finals testing locations.

Checking in: You will check-in directly at your scheduled exam location. Please be sure to bring your ID and any materials you may need for the exam. Similar to quizzes/midterms, you may start your final +/- 15 minutes to your scheduled start time and still receive your full time allotted. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you will only be given time remaining.

Personal Devices: If you will be using your own device during your exam (iPad, Laptop, etc.), please make sure it is charged beforehand. There are limited outlets and spaces to charge.

4 Study Tips for Getting Through Finals Week!

  • Get some sleep! All your studying and prep work for finals is much less effective if it is not supplemented by enough rest.
  • Find a Space Conducive to Studying!  A good study spot is essential. Find a place you are comfortable.
  • Maintain a Healthy & Balanced Diet! A healthy snack is great for helping you stay energized during a study session.
  • Take a Break! Everyone needs a study break time to time. An intentional short study break can refresh your mind!
